YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT!!

A NEW REPORT SAYS THE NUMBER OF YOUNG PEOPLE WITHOUT A JOB IS STILL VERY HIGH IN MANY COUNTRIES.

There are around 70 million people in the world in the age of 15-24 looking for a job but cannot find it.  AN international organization says that youth unemployment is coming down in rich countries.

It says that youth employment worldwide is set to rise in the years coming. "It's not easy at all being young and start out in today's labour market."  It is particularly bad for young women, so that means double trouble.

One of the main causes is the global financial collapse of 2008 (Wall Street).  A lot of countries have still not overcome from that. The real problem is that unemployment is not just important for a country's economy, it also affects health, social unrest and levels of people's happiness and productivity and therefore poorness and lifestyle.

The question is:

What do you think can help to end this situation?

EARN MONEY BY SLEEPING!

How cool is this? As impossible as it sounds it is not a joke it happens in the USA where a company is paying its employees to sleep more.

It is well known that around the world people that work full time take extra work to do at home, plus the house duties and social events, what takes the sacrifice and less importance is sleeping; but is also well known and scientifically proved that sleeping from 7 to 9 hours per day gives you full energy and a better attitude during the day, at work you can be more productive and that means more money for the company you work.

That is exactly why the insurance company Aetna is doing the campaign. They are approximately paying $300 each year to the employees that get at least seven hours of sleep a night.

How does this work? Employees can either record their sleep automatically using a wrist monitor that connects to Aetna's computers, or manually record how long they have slept every night. So there is not possibility to cheat on this program.

The staff at Aetna also receives extra cash if they do exercise. What a good motivation to belong to a company, knowing they care about your health and well-being leads you to commit with the company’s goals and do an excellent performance.

Do you think this strategy should be applied in Colombia?
